SEDM OHŇŮ K NAHANNI - (SEVEN CAMPFIRES TO THE NAHANNI)

ISBN-978-80-260-1586-4

This is my first book, published originally in Czech language. Now, it is available in Czech as well as in English. The book describes the adventure of an epic journey both, on foot with heavy loads - including a canoe on shoulders - and by paddling in the canoe. Its aim was to connect a seven-day trek through an untouched wilderness on lichen-covered game trails through raspy bushes, along rocky ridges, wading through swamps, paddling and lining chains of alpine lakes, boisterous creeks and ice-cold rivers - mostly upstream. The venture consisted of crossing the mountains of the Continental Divide from the Canol Road in the Yukon Territory to the start of the Nahanni River in the Northwest Territories of the Canadian North. The successful Calvary in the bath of one's own sweat to the cheering of an intimate-contact-seeking crowds of mosquitoes then culminated in a challenging, but unforgettably romantic canoe voyage down the South Nahanni River back to  civilization. The expedition, which initially had a physical destination, turned out to be a journey of discovering one's inner self and one's long-forgotten  senses of survival with natural instincts of Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

The main story is complemented with six additional chapters of northern wilderness adventures.

The English version of the book is now published and has been available from multiple book sellers online including Amazon.

That wild territory far over there, "naha" in Slavey language, where the sun sets, in them spooky mountains, from which those tall fearsome warriors descend on us every spring, to raise hell pillaging our villages.
The old tales of the Dené natives from the valley of the Liard river.
